A couple of more shots of the LIRR station in town. Notice in the photo on top the sand in front. This must have been taken prior to the streets being fully paved. At the very bottom is a cut out from a LIRR route map, circa 1890, showing the rail line going all the way to Point Lookout. These tracks continually washed out in winter storms and were torn up permanently prior to 1900. |
